Summary: GritLock is a self-discipline tool. You set the rules; the app enforces them. Use it responsibly. No account is required. Purchases are final and processed by Apple or Google.
By downloading or using GritLock (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all versions of GritLock on iOS, iPadOS, and Android.
GritLock is developed and published by BuildingRome Studio LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@buildingrome.dev.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
GritLock uses OS-level screen time controls (Apple Screen Time / FamilyControls on iOS; Usage Stats and overlay permissions on Android) to block apps you choose until a condition you configure is met. The App reads health and activity data from Apple Health or Google Health Connect, on-device only, to verify workout goals.
GritLock is a productivity and self-discipline aid. It is not a medical device, health application, or substitute for professional advice. Shield enforcement relies on OS-level primitives; a determined user can revoke permissions or uninstall the app at any time. We make no guarantee that the App will prevent all access to blocked apps in all circumstances.
GritLock Pro is available as a monthly subscription, annual subscription, or one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not handle payment information directly.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's account settings at any time.
All purchases are subject to the refund policy of the platform through which you purchased. We do not issue refunds directly. Lifetime purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or platform policy.
Free-tier features remain available regardless of subscription status. You can always block and always unlock in the free tier. Pro features enhance the experience but are never required to use the core blocking loop.
You can restore prior purchases using the "Restore Purchases" option in the App at any time. No account is required. Entitlement sync is managed by RevenueCat and the respective app store.
GritLock requests read-only access to Apple Health or Health Connect to verify workout goals on-device. Health data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any defects will be corrected.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BuildingRome Studio LLC and its members, officers, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of productivity, or any harm resulting from reliance on shield enforcement. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We will endeavor to maintain backward compatibility for active subscribers but are not obligated to maintain any specific feature indefinitely.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by an updated effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitute acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which BuildingRome Studio LLC is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration or in the applicable state or federal courts, at our election.
